Our intensive adventure and expedition program in the Manu biosphere is designed for our backpacking friends who come in search of adventures, expeditions and authentic tours at an affordable price. We offer many of the highlights of all our trips which is adventure, guided walks, river wildlife spotting, and night walks but with more basic lodging, transport and food.
A highlight of this trip is river tubing, which consists of floating down a stretch of the river Palotoa in Manu in an rubber tire Let yourself be carried away by the force of the current over the a stretch of for 5 kilometers near our private ecological reserve.
This tour leaves daily from the city of the Cusco in local buses destined for Salvación (capital of the province of the Manu).
DAY 01: CUSCO - CLOUD - SALVACIÓN FOREST
Today we pack our stuff and leave in a minivan from a local service at 11.00 AM to the town of Salvacion, the trip involves traveling 7 hours in a minivan through the cloud forest, past beautiful waterfalls, panoramic views, and through tunnels until we arrive at the town of Salvacion, where our cozy hostel awaits us.
After our dinner, we’ll take a night walk in the peripheries of the Oxbow Lake, this bend gives us incredible opportunities to see night creatures – especially the famous capybara (one of the largest rodents in the world) as it is known for night activity in this area, as well as alligators and snakes from the boat and lovely nightjars (birds).
DAY 02: SALVACIÓN - MANU RAINFOREST LODGE - FISHING
At 6:00 a.m. we ride two hours in the minivan to the banks of the river Alto Madre De Dios. Here we will board our boat that will take us upriver to Manu Rainforest Lodge. Once there, we can go fishing with lures in the nearby streams full of fish of different varieties and sizes. It will be rewarding and fun sport fishing surrounded by the jungle of the Amazon. The buzz of cicadas (Cicadidae), the sounds of monkeys jumping in the trees tops, exotic birds, and gorgeous butterflies of different sizes and colors will astound you. .
At night we will have night walk in search of armadillos and pacas, and nocturnal monkeys which steal food from the fields that are cultivated the locals.

DAY 03: TREEHOUSE LODGE - HIKING - BATHING IN THE RIVER
Today after breakfast we leave Manu Rainforest Lodge to go to Robles Tree House Lodge, we travel through the jungle on a motorized canoe upriver (Rio Palotoa) for 45 minutes. Once at Robles Tree House Lodge, will have time available to explore our oak ecological reserve through our road system. We will now go to walk in search of wildlife very slowly and with a look to any movement or sound either of flocks of monkeys, peccaries, and macaws that tend to be in the tops of trees, also a beautiful forest of bamboos, giant ficus tree, ferns, insects, and wonderful mushrooms.
Half day delight a delicious lunch and enjoy the crystal clear waters and the Sun.

DAY 04: PARROT COLLPA – RIVER TUBING
As usual each morning hundreds of parrots, parakeets, macaws (Aras), gather to eat the clay rich in minerals at the lick (collpa) as part of their diet. To enjoy this activity we have to wake up at 5:00 a.m. and at 5:20 a.m. we should be in the hideout, across from the Parrot collpa, keeping silence and calmness to watch groups of five to ten gather and settle en masse on the rock wall and consume the rich mineral clay. We'll also have a good chance to see troupes of monkeys, toucans, and woodpeckers that often fly from one side of the river to the other. Here might also get to spot the shy and playful river otters.
Afterwards, enjoy an excursion in tubing along the Palotoa River's crystal clear waters in the middle of the jungle. Wildlife abounds: waterfowl and migratory birds, four types of monkeys, and squirrels jump between trees near the river. Later we arrive at the river Alto Madre De Dios, where we take our boat on the winding river that leads us to the hostel Manu Rainforest Lodge for an evening in comfort and a delicious dinner. A guided night walk is possible.
DAY 05: MANU RAINFOREST LODGE - CUSCO
Day of return to the city of Cuzco by the same route as we came the first day, we have to cross the river in our wooden boat, to then take our local bus at 7:00 AM, to Salvacion. Here we take another minivan that leads directly to the city of the Cusco arriving at 6:00 a.m.
What’s included in the trip?
Manu Rainforest Peru rates include all meals, soft drinks, hot drinks, sparkling wine and beer with meals, accommodations at lodges, excursions with knowledgeable naturalist guides, professional cook (chef), the Manu National Park entrance fee, night walks. We will provide private transportation (boat & minivan). Breakfast and lunch will be available on your last day and are included in the rate. Tubing in the river is also included on your amazon adventure. One great advantage of our “all inclusive” rates is that you will know in advance exactly how much you’re Manu Rainforest Peru vacation will cost. Your only extra expenses will be drinks, boutique purchases, First day breakfast, and Drinking water first day, Personal expenses, we provide gum boots for wetland excursions.
What should I bring to the Jungle?
Please bring comfortable walking shoes, lightweight long pants and long sleeved shirts for our excursions, as well as a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, extra socks, Dark-colored clothing, Swimwear, sandals and a small personal towel, Water bottle or canteen, mosquito repellant with DEET, and of course your camera with charger and extra batteries, and waterproof ponchos with hoods to protect against rain, torch/flashlight with extra battery. You may wish to include some small items that you can give away to the locals (t-shirts, pens and candies are especially prized). During meals in the dining room we ask our guests to wear casual clothing and shoes or sandals.
Binoculars - Very important to enjoy wild life (Vortex 10 x 42, Bushnell, Nikon 8 x 42).
